COPD8USA Session Recap

COPD8USA, held on June 14-15, 2013 in Chicago, was an overwhelming success. Over 500 individuals attended the conference and attendees said they were incredibly impressed with the unique format and everyone is looking forward to COPD9USA in June 2015! The COPD Foundation would like to thank our incredible planning committee, faculty and everyone who attended the conference.

COPD8USA, modeled on the successful COPD conference series held in the UK in even calendar years, was designed to foster communication and interaction between attendees and faculty. The conference consisted of large group plenary sessions and three distinct break-out tracks with smaller group sessions in the areas of clinical, research and care delivery. Additional young-investigator sessions and inter-professional networking hours were held along with a poster session to showcase investigator submitted original and non-original research and clinical improvement projects. Multiple learning methods including were utilized in the various sessions including; case study presentations and round table discussions, facilitated panel discussions, lecture, original research presentations with senior investigator review panel and more.

COPD Community at Large
Create a new user name and password on the registration page and retain this information in order to view the conference content. If you have already registered for the COPD7USA media files, you may use the same user name and password to access the COPD8USA files.

In addition to the proceedings available on the website, we are developing a highlights monograph from COPD8USA. The monograph will be accredited for Category 1 CME and will be available in print in Lung Health Professional magazine and will be downloadable from the conference website.
